Happy Birthday Edward Gorrey

Today is the 88th anniversary of the birth of the late Edward Gorrey a writer and artist known for his cutely macabre work.  Gorrey was a cat rather then a dog lover, 


and lived with many in his home in Cape Cod.

Wordless Wednesday-Who is That Handsome Devil?

Before I  came home to live with momma and dad mom won Bunk The Pug's Easter Egg Contest  and the grand prize was a portrait Bailey Be Good's mom.
She does amazing dog and cat portraits.  Since mom already had portraits of all the other urban hounds she decided to save her award for my arrival.   My portrait arrived about a week ago and dad took it to an art store in Manhattan to be framed.  When it came home I had a great time checking  it out.  Bailey's mom did an amazing job, she captured my darling baby face perfectly.  

Flashback Friday-In Memory of Dr. Zira

On Monday we received a package from Sid's dad over at Pug Slope, 
a lovely portrait of dear departed Dr. Zira 

I love how this picture captures Z's sweet, expressive gaze, and that here little pink tongue is hanging out (she had the cutest tongue).

Her siblings seemed to like Z's  picture too, Norbert sniffed it thoroughly

 (perhaps detecting some eau de Sid).

We placed the picture on a shelf in our living room, underneath portraits of Tubby, Norbert, Ping, and Bob (and a professional photo of Dr. Zira).

Once we find a suitable frame we will  hang it up with the other portraits where we can see Z's sweet face looking down on us each day.
