with a typical Manhattan line wrapping around the block. Now mom and dad don't particularly like frozen bananas so Arrested Development fans or not they had no desire to wait in that line, but mom thought it would be fun to make us some Bluth inspired frozen banana treats. They where a hit with everyone except Tubby, who takes after mom and dad and does not like bananas, plus they are super easy to make
2 large bananas cut in 2 inch segments
1 cup carob chips
1 tbsp vegetable oil
unsweetened coconut flakes
Like a baking sheet or pan with foil and spray the foil with non stick cooking spray. Melt the carob with the oil in microwave save bowl or measuring cup for about 1 min at 50% power, pausing after thirty seconds to stir, be careful as carob burns easily. Dip the bananas in the carob coating and transfer to the foil lined baking sheet and sprinkle over the coconut. Freeze about 2 hours or until firm. Feed to any dogs in the vicinity before a marathon Arrested Development viewing session.
Haha we have been having lots of Arrested Development marathons here as our son tries to get me caught up before the fourth season comes out. Currently I'm 2/3 through Season 2. I like frozen bananas but I would never wait in line. Brilliant entrepreneurship to build a banana stand there though!
ReplyDeleteThey look very tasty indeed. Have a terrific Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
Looks like the kids like them!
ReplyDeleteLooks like they were indeed a big hit! I like that show too!
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome. We're working our way through the original seasons for the. daddy, who when Mama said "ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT! NEW EPISODES!" And gasped was like "what's that?" Mama is questioning how they even ended up together. (And understanding why he thinks she's nuts. She quotes AD an awful lots and I suppose that would sound nuts if you hadn't seen the show!)
ReplyDeleteLOVE THAT SHOW! Sometimes I can catch a few episodes back to back on IFC. so darn funny. Great looking treats!
ReplyDeleteOooh - those treats look delicious!

ReplyDeleteAlso, those bananas look delish.
SHE thinks they look delicious, but we dogs don't like bananas.

I think even my mummy could make those!
ReplyDeleteOMP those look amazing! I LOVE banana. I make sure my dad gives me two slices of the banana that he puts on his cereal in the morning.
ReplyDeleteSo you guys are AD fans, too?! My dad has been holed up each night since Sunday and watches back-to-back episodes on Netflix until he falls asleep in the chair. I think he's almost through them all but then he says he wants to watch them AGAIN because each episode is so jam-packed with stuff. And he calls ME a doofus.
-Love,
Sid.
These pictures are KILLING me! Such a drool fest. Banana is my favorite food. EVER.
