Tasty Tuesday-Bluth Banana Bites for Dogs

Mom and Dad are big fans of the TV show Arrested Development, and where very excited when it resurrected by Netflix for a fourth season.  Evidently lots of other people where too.  There was even a Bluth Banana stand in Manhattan

with a typical Manhattan line wrapping around the block.  Now mom and dad don't particularly like frozen bananas so Arrested Development fans or not they had no desire to wait in that line, but mom thought it would be fun to make us some Bluth inspired frozen banana treats.   They where a hit with everyone except Tubby, who takes after mom and dad and does not like bananas, plus they are super easy to make

Frozen Bananas for Dogs

 Bluth Banana Bites for Dogs

2 large bananas cut in 2 inch segments
1 cup carob chips
1 tbsp vegetable oil
unsweetened coconut flakes

Like a baking sheet or pan with foil and spray the foil with non stick cooking spray. Melt the carob with the oil in microwave save bowl or measuring cup for about 1 min at 50% power, pausing after thirty seconds to stir, be careful as carob burns easily.  Dip the bananas in the carob coating and transfer to the foil lined baking sheet and sprinkle over the coconut.  Freeze about 2 hours or until firm.   Feed to any dogs in the vicinity before a marathon Arrested Development viewing session.

  1. Haha we have been having lots of Arrested Development marathons here as our son tries to get me caught up before the fourth season comes out. Currently I'm 2/3 through Season 2. I like frozen bananas but I would never wait in line. Brilliant entrepreneurship to build a banana stand there though!

  2. They look very tasty indeed. Have a terrific Tuesday.
    Best wishes Molly

  3. Looks like they were indeed a big hit! I like that show too!

  4. That is awesome. We're working our way through the original seasons for the. daddy, who when Mama said "ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT! NEW EPISODES!" And gasped was like "what's that?" Mama is questioning how they even ended up together. (And understanding why he thinks she's nuts. She quotes AD an awful lots and I suppose that would sound nuts if you hadn't seen the show!)

  5. LOVE THAT SHOW! Sometimes I can catch a few episodes back to back on IFC. so darn funny. Great looking treats!

  6. Oooh - those treats look delicious!

  7. Those sound great! I'm afraid the dogs would not get very many as I think I would eat a few....or all...of them ;-)

  8. I loves me some Arrested Development; thanks for the highlight reel. Those treats look good...

  9. Dip would love those, she is crazy about bananas!

  13. We saw that Arrested Development was up on Netflix. I've never watched it, but hear good things about it. Maybe I'll start now that I've got AMERICAN NETFLIX (best thing ever).

    Also, those bananas look delish.

  14. SHE thinks they look delicious, but we dogs don't like bananas.

    XXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy

  15. I've never watched the show but I love bananas :-) The frozen banana treat looks yummy! That reminds me of chocolate covered banana snack I used to love as a child :-)

  16. I know that I would love them for sure!

  17. Yummy!

Stop on by for a visit

  18. OMP those look amazing! I LOVE banana. I make sure my dad gives me two slices of the banana that he puts on his cereal in the morning.

So you guys are AD fans, too?! My dad has been holed up each night since Sunday and watches back-to-back episodes on Netflix until he falls asleep in the chair. I think he's almost through them all but then he says he wants to watch them AGAIN because each episode is so jam-packed with stuff. And he calls ME a doofus.

  19. These pictures are KILLING me! Such a drool fest. Banana is my favorite food. EVER.

  20. Thanks!
