"Dogs are our link to paradise. They don't know evil or jealousy or discontent. To sit with a dog on a hillside on a glorious afternoon is to be back in Eden, where doing nothing was not boring - it was peace." - Milan Kundera (b. 1929) Czech author
In honor of Halloween we have been binge watching the Universal Horror films at our house and I was quite surprised and thrilled to glimpse a sweet little Brussels Griffon in Werewolf of London, 1935. Reminded me of my dear departed little Dr. Zira
Omigoodness! That sure is! My Hunny wants a Brussels Griffon. Do you recommend them as lap dogs? I'm looking at rescue and can't imagine any of them as rescue in our neck of the woods. www.dogtreatweb.com
Amazing they still look the same today. So often the look morphs over time!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely coincidence!

I always love spotting the dogs in the older films...I'm watching "Becky Sharp" (also 1935) and there was a wolfhound in it
ReplyDeleteFangtastic!!! Have a serene Sunday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
Dr. Zira and that dog do look so much alike!
ReplyDeleteAw I can see why the dog in the film reminded you of Dr. Zira.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the movie! I'm avoiding any horror movies... :-)
We love the old films xxooxx

Oh yes... when you said "Brussels Griffon", I instantly remembered Dr. Zira too.
