Retro Rover-Chalkware Dogs

In 2008 Bark magazine had a great article about Carnival Chalkware (link).
Apparently cute little chalk ware figurines, rather then stuffed animals, used to be the standard prize at Carnivals.  Now they are a popular collectable.   Here are some of the ones available on etsy.

Wouldn't it have been neat to go to a carnival in the thirties and win this little guy!  If only

  3. Wow, over here it use to be carnival glass. Yes that too is very collectible. Before that in the mists of times were Fairings a cheap pottery object that also has become collectible. What fun. Have a super Saturday.
    Best wishes Molly

  4. Our human likes to look at vintage dog figurines at flea markets and antique shops. She said she's not seen any of those. They are cute :)

  7. It was dog food. Beef livers with onions in a can. You open it up and it looks like vomit.
