Tasty Tuesday-Treats for Peeps Grady's Cold Brew Coffee

On Saturday mom and dad went to Smorgasburg in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.  The NY Times described this market as The Woodstock of Eating.  Since we are all confirmed foodies and plenty hip enough for the 'Burg we were eager to go.  Then mom dealt the blow, apparently Norbert and Bob are too big to be allowed on the train as they don't fit in bags, and at nearly 90 degrees mom and dad felt it was to hot for pugs.   We all got left at home in the air conditioning and comforted ourselves with the thought that surely Mom and Dad would bring us some treats.  Yummy hipster friendly treats.

Three hours later mom and dad came home with a small bag.   We imagined jerky, organic dog cookies, free range chicken nibbles, etc.   However the bag contained something forbidden to all dogs, coffee!

We could hardly believe it no treats for us.   We inspected thoroughly, but sure enough it was a bottle of Grady's Cold Brew Iced Coffee Concentrate.

Even more ominous then their evident neglect, mom and dad are addicted to this stuff.   They say its the best coffee they have ever tasted (and they've tasted lots).   The bottle cost them 15 dollars and will make 8 cups of iced coffee, not too bad they say when you consider the cost of Starbucks.  But 15 bucks could have bought us a giant bag of chewies or two boxes of treats.   Worst of all if they bring the bottle back to Smorgasburg they get two dollars off their next bottle, and they are planning to return in the next few weeks.  Seem like we will have to give them the cold shoulder for awhile.

  1. You definitely have got to tell them how ticked off you are! BOL! Sometimes we just don't get the bag of treats, you know? Have a good Tuesday friends!

  2. Oh noes! Coming back without treats is a crime against all furbabies. That being said, I'm going to have to go and order this iced coffee now!

  3. I'd go on strike , no treats no licks. Have a happy Tuesday now!
    Best wishes Molly

  4. Oh dearie me, we can't believe how this happened, I mean, not a single teeny treat? Not a single one? Incredible, or as they say in France incroyable, zut alors, merde or just plain pah! Not good. But if you can load the guilt between now and when they return, maybe they'll make it up to you in bucket loads of treats in a few weeks time :)

  5. Wow, that's just horrible! No ride, no treats. Ptththtthth to that. Your peeps deserve the stink eye fur sure. They owe you a big bag of pup jerkey or a great big bone. Something anyway.
BTW: Coffee?!? Yuck. Give me a milkbone anyday. BOL
    Grr and Woof,
    Sarge, COP

  6. HEY! My word verification thingy on my last comment was "eenHAM"! Yeah, ham would be great! You'd forgive them for a big slice of ham! BOL

  7. What! Not treats! Ice coffee sounds great right now in this heat. I have yet to try it! :)

  8. Left at home AND no treats were brought back?!? I am calling the authorities on your behalf!

  9. Woof! Woof! My mom LOVES LOVES coffee too. She drinks about 6 cups a day so if that's good it will be gone ... Hope next time they get you something. Happy TT. Lots of Golden ALOHA n Woofs, Sugar

  10. What a good way to start the day
    Benny & Lily

  11. ok im going to have to google this, I make my own iced cofee concentrate by cold brewing - takes forever and I have to make ahead. I would def pay $15 for this. Im off to google :) thanks for showing this!

  12. Oh my dog! My assistant is a coffee junkie and may have to run right out and find this coffee!

    Your pal, Pip

P.S.: I bet you dogs had more fun in the air conditioning than riding on a hot train!

  13. You were so right to tell my mom to be sure and visit today! This coffee looks amazing. She's totally excited. Definitely her speed, though I have concerns about her coffee addiction.

And thank you so much for your wonderful comments on my blog. :)

  14. No fair! Mama would never come home without something for me... But she really likes her coffee!

  15. Well now that is not fair at all! Next time be sure to remind the pawrents to bring you back some treats. Oh I know you got to stay in a nice cool house,,,, but I bet your tummys were growling!

  16. ICED COFFEE CONCENTRATE?! What a great idea! The Mama wants some *right* now

  17. The nerve!!! They are on the poo poo list for sure. Mom is all nuts for coffee too, so she says you get no sympathy from her.

Been having trouble commenting on your blog. Hopefully this one goes through.

  18. Well, since your 'rents do so much for you guys, I guess it's OK that they got a little T-R-E-A-T (yeah, mom and dad, I know how to spell) for themselves. Although you need to make sure next time they promise to bring back some toys or dog-friendly treats.
