Right around this time four years ago my husband and I adopted Dr. Zira at the age of 9. She was skinny and super shy, but with such a sweet face.
Even though Dr. Z was never really well during her years with us: kidney disease, skin problems, heart murmur, breathing issues. It was still a shock to me when she died suddenly on March 8, of pneumonia.
I am so thankful to Wilma's mom for making the lovely memorial badge for Dr. Z that we now have up on our page's side bar.
What a cute face!! How could you resist! That badge is great.
ReplyDeleteIs that the picture above? Oh she has the floppy tongue!
ReplyDeleteWell, do not worry. No matter how late, a dog who had the opportunity to live a better life in the hands of a good and loving family will always be forever thankful.
Huggies and Cheese,
Hopee
Lovely memories of Dr Zira for you and nice for us to see her picture. Have a lovely Friday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
She reminds me of our friend Rex from England. That is a beautiful picture. I know her time with you was her best time! So sorry to hear of her loss. Stella Rose
ReplyDeleteDr. Zira was so fortunate that you found her! Your badge is a beautiful tribute! :)
ReplyDeleteThe badge is beautiful. Dr. Zira was so lucky to have the opportunity to "start over" at the age of nine. It always surprises me when I hear people refusing to consider dogs that are a bit older .. especially the little guys ..after all, Tucker is nine years old and he hasn't even begun to slow down.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful badge...Dr. Z was well loved by you and all us here in blog land. She was very lucky to have found you all.
ReplyDeleteHugs the girls
Beautiful! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeletewhat a nice tribute, so adorable

I'm sure her 4 years with you were the best 4 years ever for her. It's too bad we can't stay with our beloved humans longer. Why doggies only get such a short time here is a mystery. Especially when a tv show we were watching this week was showing a fish that lives to be 60 years old. It just doesn't seem fair.
ReplyDeleteThat's a very nice badge for Zira.
