In Memory of Dr. Zira

Right around this time four years ago my husband and I adopted Dr. Zira at the age of 9.  She was skinny and super shy, but with such a sweet face.

Even though Dr. Z was never really well during her years with us: kidney disease, skin problems, heart murmur, breathing issues.  It was still a shock to me when she died suddenly on March 8, of pneumonia.

I am so thankful to Wilma's mom for making the lovely memorial badge for Dr. Z that we now have up on our page's side bar.

  2. Is that the picture above? Oh she has the floppy tongue!

Well, do not worry. No matter how late, a dog who had the opportunity to live a better life in the hands of a good and loving family will always be forever thankful.

    Huggies and Cheese,

    Hopee

  6. The badge is beautiful. Dr. Zira was so lucky to have the opportunity to "start over" at the age of nine. It always surprises me when I hear people refusing to consider dogs that are a bit older .. especially the little guys ..after all, Tucker is nine years old and he hasn't even begun to slow down.

  10. I'm sure her 4 years with you were the best 4 years ever for her. It's too bad we can't stay with our beloved humans longer. Why doggies only get such a short time here is a mystery. Especially when a tv show we were watching this week was showing a fish that lives to be 60 years old. It just doesn't seem fair.

That's a very nice badge for Zira.
